Stolons (Sprigs):

The terms sprigs and stolons are used interchangeably, referring to pieces of aboveground or belowground grass stems for creeping grasses (Bermuda). Planting sprigs is an alternative to sodding. When planted during the late spring to summer months (May-August), sprigs can achieve the look of sodding in 10-12 weeks, providing warm weather, proper irrigation, and mowing needs are met.
